Divorce Lawyer in Orlando, Florida Focused on Helping You Establish and Implement an Effective Parenting Plan
When you are going through a divorce, one of the most difficult aspects can revolve around where your children live and how much time they spend with each parent. You want what is best for your children, but you also want to play a meaningful role in their growth and development. Therefore you want an attorney to help you through the process, one who can help you identify solutions that are in the best interests of your children but protect your parental rights.
At the office of William M. Stern, Attorney and Counselor at Law, we bring over 30 years of experience to parents throughout central Florida who are involved in divorce proceedings. We work hard to understand the unique issues you face, so that we can help you set up parenting plans that work for everyone, especially your children. As a result, most of our new cases come to us as referrals from former or existing clients.

Experienced Counsel Setting Up Parenting Plans
We work closely with men and women at all stages of the development and implementation of a parenting plan, whether you have just filed and want to establish temporary custody, visitation and support; you want to finalize a divorce decree; or you need to seek modification of an existing judgment due to a change in circumstances. Our goal when working on a parenting plan is to ensure that:
- minor children have frequent and continuous contact with both parents
- both parents share the rights and responsibilities of child-rearing
-
both parents have access to and knowledge of educational and medical care providers
The Role of Mediation
Our preference, in all parenting plan disputes, is to try to resolve differences through mediation. As a part of this process, we often recommend the involvement of family counselors or other child development professionals.
Mediation gives you greater control over the outcome, and can save substantial time and money. It is less stressful on everyone involved (especially children) and customarily leads to arrangements that last longer and need less enforcement. Of course, if you are unable to resolve your differences through mediation, we will work to protect your rights at trial, if necessary.
